As part of Subaru’s Loves to Help initiative, the Tom Wood Subaru team was proud to participate in an Operation Warm coat distribution event on the evening of January 14, 2026, helping deliver warmth, dignity, and hope to children and families in our community.

Operation Warm is a national nonprofit dedicated to providing brand-new winter coats to children in need—because every child deserves to feel warm, confident, and cared for during the coldest months of the year. Unlike traditional donation programs, Operation Warm ensures that each child receives a new coat, reinforcing not only physical warmth but also confidence and self-worth.

This year, Operation Warm and Subaru retailers across the country—including Tom Wood Subaru—made a tremendous impact, serving more than 140,000 children nationwide who are living in urgent need. Through strong local partnerships, Subaru retailers continue to turn nationwide compassion into meaningful, community-level action.

Locally, this special event directly benefited the Fishers Youth Assistance Program, supporting families who may be facing financial hardship or challenging circumstances. We were honored to work alongside Trisha Straus, Early Intervention Advocate with Fishers Youth Assistance, whose passion and dedication to serving youth and families makes a meaningful difference every day.

Following the event, Trisha shared just how impactful the evening was for the community:

“I truly want to thank you all for such a wonderful event! For the past two years we had distributed shoes, and I was unsure how the coats would be received by the community—but I am so thankful to report that this was our best year yet. Last night, YOU all were able to provide 52 families with 116 coats. Gretchen and I had so many people stop and tell us how truly appreciative they were to receive this support.”

Because of the generosity of Tom Wood Subaru and its partners, 116 brand-new winter coats were distributed to 52 local families, making this the most successful year of the program to date.
