Fishers Youth Assistance Program’s Snack Attack Reaches Record Number of Students

Fishers, IN – Fishers Youth Assistance Program (FYAP) is proud to announce that its Snack Attack Program has reached a record number of students this school year.

Beginning the week of Sept. 3, FYAP distributed 437 snack bags to students in need within the Hamilton Southeastern (HSE) Schools district. Registrations surged thereafter, leading to the delivery of 513 snack bags, and by the third week, 531 bags were distributed—far surpassing the 350 bags typically delivered at the start of previous years.

This year, a new class from HSE has taken on the responsibility of delivering snack bags to several schools, and their enthusiasm and dedication have been evident. The students have taken a more active role in the process compared to previous groups, showing great initiative in supporting their peers. Additionally, packing dates have been scheduled with the Exceptional Learner classes from HSE and Fishers High School (FHS), with this year marking FHS’s first participation in the program.

FYAP’s Snack Attack Program provides snacks on the weekends during the school year to HSE students who qualify for the reduced lunch program or who have increased need. Families in need can still register for the 2024/2025 Snack Attack Program, and community members are encouraged to donate or sign up as volunteers to help pack bags. For more information on how to donate or volunteer, please visit the FYAP website.
